You don’t know how happy this made me when I saw it. I’m a browncoat myself, and I think it turned out right shiny!

I figured Mal would like something that’s more workable, so less frills than someone like Kaylee or Inara would wear, for instance. Workable brown boots, wool tights, a simple box-pleated skirt with a ruffled underskirt, suspenders to keep it up, and a high-necked blouse so you don’t have to worry about no gorram collar flopping around and getting in the way of being a Big Damn Hero (sir!). The brown coat (with a brass button + chain closure) of the resistance sits on top, and it would hang a couple of inches above the hem of the skirt at its longest point.

I fought myself to keep from drawing in a gun holster on the waistband of the skirt. In my headcanon, lolita!Mal would probably have knives in the boots and a pistol in a garter holster under her petticoat
